From Fortnite characters to Captain America and the Avengers, young people flooded the streets of Pleasantville Saturday in the annual Ragamuffin Parade.
Hundreds came together to march from Bedford Road School to Memorial Plaza, where parade goers were met with an array of carnival rides and other activities.
Despite the longstanding tradition of Ragamuffin Day celebrations in New York City’s outer boroughs and suburbs, one newer resident said he had been unaware of Pleasantville’s event before stumbling upon it.
“As a fairly new member of the community, I definitely wish I would have heard about this before today,” said James Rosata, who has lived in Pleasantville for two years.
