Pleasantville is home to one of the eight restaurants in Westchester County recently recognized by Michelin as Bib Gourmands.
Southern Table, located on Marble Avenue, serves traditional southern classics such as shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes. According to the 2020 Michelin guide, “Just a few bites of this food and you might think you’re in Dixie—it’s that convincing.”
If you ask general manager Jordan Johansen, it’s all about the authenticity.
“[We have] a staff that greets you with some southern charm and a menu that delivers authentic, genuine Southern comfort, Carolina-influenced food with our unique twist,” he said.
“I believe the southern cuisine first and foremost makes Southern Table stand out. Our attention to detail, dedication to providing great service and the interesting décor and outdoor patio also help set us apart.”
Michelin is better known for its star ratings, but also recognizes Bib Gourmands as “delightful little restaurants selected by MICHELIN guide inspectors for their very good value for money.”
Another nearby restaurant has become the first ever in Westchester County to receive a Michelin star rating: Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills received two stars in the 2020 Michelin guide.
