{"id":2230,"date":"2019-11-12T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T23:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pleasantvillepress.com\/?p=2230"},"modified":"2019-12-01T22:05:59","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T03:05:59","slug":"public-hearing-scheduled-for-new-parking-restriction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/pleasantvillepress.com\/index.php\/2019\/11\/12\/public-hearing-scheduled-for-new-parking-restriction\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Hearing Scheduled for New Parking Restriction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0A public hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 14 to discuss proposed  parking restrictions near the intersection of Martling Avenue and Bedford Road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed law would ban parking on the west side of Martling Ave. within 69 feet of the Bedford Road intersection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police Chief Eric Grutzner said he and the village&#8217;s engineer deemed the location not suitable for parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe went to review the rules. This specific intersection received a lot of concern in the area. The sightlines weren\u2019t clear enough, and some had trouble turning on and off of Bedford Road,\u201d Grutzner said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The area in which the intersection is located is residential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMany residents are comfortable with the places they park their car\u2026\u00a0 they have a bit of an adjustment,\u201d Grutzner said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The public hearing is scheduled for the Village Board&#8217;s Nov. 14 meeting at 8 p.m. on the second floor of Village Hall.<br><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=pvillepressny\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0A public hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 14 to discuss proposed parking restrictions near the intersection of Martling Avenue and Bedford Road.
