The Pleasantville Music Festival is selling discounted tickets for its next event in July.
Adult tickets purchased during the “December Ticketfest,” which lasts through New Year’s Eve, are $35. Students and seniors can purchase tickets for $25.
The Pleasantville Music Festival was created 14 years ago to showcase musical talent that doesn’t always get a spotlight and to give them an opportunity to gain publicity. Local bands are picked for the festival at Pleasantville’s annual Battle of the Bands.
“All of the bands we choose to play are from New York’s backyard. So they can’t be from Manhattan,” said Landa LaMotta, public relations director of the Pleasantville music festival.
“Live music is easier to find in Manhattan but harder to find here. We have a lot of special talent right here and the Pleasantville Music Festival allows us to see and notice it,” said LaMotta.
Pleasantville resident Christian Maldonado said he likes the festival because it is family-friendly. “The first time I went to the festival was three years ago and I went with my baby cousin and my mom. It’s really normal to take your whole family out to Pleasantville’s festival. My baby cousin is planning on going again this year too,” Maldonado said.
The festival features three distinct stages for different genres of music.
“You can go from a true rock vibe and move over and listen to some acoustic music. It’s not just one thing playing the whole time,” Maldonado said.
The next festival will take place on July 14th. Tickets are being sold on Ticketweb.
