{"id":1358,"date":"2018-11-19T10:44:40","date_gmt":"2018-11-19T15:44:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pleasantvillepress.com\/?p=1358"},"modified":"2018-12-18T14:22:02","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T19:22:02","slug":"democrat-wins-mount-pleasant-town-board-position-after-30-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pleasantvillepress.com\/index.php\/2018\/11\/19\/democrat-wins-mount-pleasant-town-board-position-after-30-years\/","title":{"rendered":"New Mount Pleasant Town Board Member Looks Ahead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The newest member of the Mount Pleasant Town Board said she believes local politics should focus on &#8220;the best interest of the town\u201d over party affiliations. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When Pleasantville resident Francesca Hagadus-McHale takes office in January, she will be the only Democratic member of the Town Board. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hagadus-McHale said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> residents have a variety of political viewpoints and \u201cdeserve a seat at the table just like everybody else.\u201d She also said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the town&#8217;s three hamlets, Valhalla, Hawthorne, and Thornwood, were well represented on the board and she believed her presence will add \u201ca fresh viewpoint and a sense of transparency to the rest of the town.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hagadus-McHale said she also wants to make sure that proposed construction projects are focused on \u201cnot necessarily what brings income into the town, but what benefits the town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hagadus-McHale confirmed she plans on running again next November for a full term on the Town Board.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=pvillepressny\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The newest member of the Mount Pleasant Town Board said she believes local politics should focus on &#8220;the best interest of the town\u201d over party affiliations.
